Proper brushing
- The correct way of brushing teeth in children consists of small circular movements that reach the gums.
- The toothbrush that children should use will have a small head and soft bristles.
- From the age of 3 years, an electric toothbrush can be used, always under the supervision of an adult, while after the age of 7 years the use of an electric toothbrush is highly recommended.
- Recommended frequency of brushing teeth à at least 3 times a day, after each meal: in the morning, after breakfast, at noon, after lunch and in the evening, before bedtime, INDEFINITELY!!!!
Use of fluoride toothpaste
- Children younger than 18 months: use a minimum amount of fluoride toothpaste with a fluoride content of 500ppm F.
- Children from 3 to 6 years of age: a fluoride toothpaste with 500-1000 ppm fluoride, depending on the age and the presence or absence of early caries.
- Children over 6 years of age (who can now control the swallowing reflex): use fluoride toothpaste with a fluoride content of 1000-1450 ppm F.
- Children with severe caries problem: supplementary use of fluoride tablets, on a daily basis, for a certain period of time.
Flossing
- Children over 6 years of age: floss every night after brushing your teeth.
- Children younger than 6 years: use thread passed in special pockets, with the help of parents.
Use of oral solution
- Children over 6 years: use

every night, after brushing the teeth, if our paediatric dentist deems it necessary.
